At camp 2 on Makalu

Hi all,

This is Billi’s Robot.

Billi just called from her satphone from camp 2 (6400m). She says all is well. The Sherpa team are fixing ropes to camp 3 now (7400m). If all goes to plan then they will ascend to camp 3 and sleep one night there tomorrow for acclimatization.

Check her Twitter feed below right!

You can also send her an SMS via https://sms.thuraya.com/ to her number +88216-21370592 but don’t expect a response as credit and battery life are always short.

    Dear Billi,
Thinking of you as you make your way up Makalu. May the weather gods be with you and your team this time.
(Coincidentally, the Appalachian Mountain Club here in Connecticut is having Robert Mads Anderson talk about his ascent of Makalu on May 13th.) I’m sure you must know him! So I’m going to hear his talk, and I’ll think of you going up and down this big one.
Also, I’m doing a presentation on our Kilimanjaro climb on May 28th here in New Canaan.
    Hugs and lots of love,

    Hi Billi!
Back in Germany I am now able to read your blog and I will closely follow your ascent which – I am sure – will be safe and successful! Our wonderful meeting in KTM was a great and special experience and I will send you a picture.
ALL THE BEST for the days lying ahead of you and your team,
    warm regards
