On the second weekend in December, I will present pictures and a few stories about my two Manaslu expeditions. Manaslu, also called ‘Mountain of the Spirits’, is the eighth highest mountain in the world and is located in the Lamjung District in the northern Himalaya range. The region is very rich in variety and is divided into six climatic zones, and the people range from Gurungs in the lowlands to the Buthias, who are of Tibetan ethnicity.
I would like to share my experience as well as what I have learnt about the people of the region, the Sherpas, the other climbers, life in the mountains and of course the difference of climbing with and without supplementary oxygen.
So, if you are in the region on 10th December 2011, it would be great if you popped in. For more details on Facebook, click here.
