Drama on Discovery Everest Series

Apparently the series, the Discovery Channel shot on our Everest expedition, has been aired in the States. There are five episodes and our team, led by Russell Brice, is on episode five.

It is weird not having seen it as a lot of people have contacted me saying that they had no idea that my summit day was such a drama – well, neither had I! According to the series, I was lost, out of radio contact, late for my arrival time at the Hillary Step and so on.

However, after I had heard all that I contacted Russell to ask him whether he had ever been worried about me and whether there was a drama going on down at base camp but he calmed me down, telling me that this was not the case at all.

It is actually quite interesting how the media can make something out of nothing but I guess we did not have a major drama on our expedition and every little glitch in of the individual climbers helped the editors to make it more interesting.

However, I will have to see it myself to judge it with authority but unfortunately it is not yet available outside the United States. You can actually see it online but like the TV series, it is only accessible from the US and not from anywhere else in the world. So, if you are in North America and  want to have a look, just click here.

It would be great to hear what you think of it!
